New Delhi, May 19 :Top leaders of CPI today evaluated the Lok Sabha poll debacle of Left parties and its allies.
The CPI National Executive meeting at Ajoy Bhavan, the party headquarters, was attended by party General Secretary A B Bardhan and senior leaders like Raja, G Sudhakar Reddy and Annie Raja.

"We met to review the election debacle. This was the first meeting of the party. After this, all state units will meet," a senior CPI leader said.

The leader said the party analysed all aspects of its disappointing performance, particularly in West Bengal and Kerala.

However, the leader did not provide details about the deliberations at the meeting.

The CPI(M) Polit Bureau had met yesterday to stock of the party's worst electoral performance since its inception in 1964.

The Forward Bloc Central Secretariat also met here to evaluate election results and said people did not take the Third Front "seriously" as there was "confusion" among the masses about the grouping's "stability, credibility and programmes". PTI
