Islamabad, Nov 12, 2008: A couple of weeks after former Pakistan premier Pervez Musharraf expressed his desire to join active politics and directed his supporters to create a platform for him to take over the reins of the erstwhile ruling party in Pakistan, the PML-Q, he last evening said that he had no intentions to become the League-Q president.According to the Daily Times, talking to the media at the Islamabad airport, Musharraf said that his return to politics depended on the “future circumstances” of the country.

“People would realise soon that his government had been better than the incumbent regime,” the paper quoted him as saying.

To a question, if a change in the country’s political setup was possible within the next three months, Musharraf said that nothing like that would happen.

At a dinner party a couple of weeks ago, Musharraf had urged upon his supporters to ask the Choudhrys of Gujarat to vacate the presidency of the PML-Q for him. Notably, during his regime till early this year, Musharraf had been calling the shots not only at the Presidency, but in the PML-Q too. And, everyone in the party used to toe his line of action.
