40 valley farmers deputed for study tour outside the state.
Srinagar January 15- A group of forty progressive farmers from various districts of Kashmir valley were deputed for twelve days study tour out side the state today by department under the programme of "Exchange Visit of Farmers outside the State". The farmers shall be visiting various Research stations and Agriculture Universities of Northern India to get them selves familiarized with the latest technologies in the fields of Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Poultry, Diary Technology etc.
The farmers were flagged off by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Mr. Masood Samoon at TRC Ground Srinagar today.
On this occasion Mr. Samoon said that the Government is committed to the upliftment of the farming community of the state and today's tour of farmers shall not only boost their morale but also provide them an opportunity to interact with the fellow farmers of the country and that of the Agricultural scientist, Research scholars and related field functionaries. Div Com was hopeful that the touring farmers shall bring latest technology with them after their return.
Deputy Director Agriculture Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Qasba was also present on the occasion.
