JU Scholars protest PM’s visit

Jammu, Dec 14: A protest rally was taken out today by the Jammu University Research Scholars Executive Association (JURSEA) in the campus to lodge their protest against the visit of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in the city.

Wearing black badges & placards in hands with messages like “Hindu Muslim Ek Hai, Congress Responsible for turmoil in J&K, Stop discrimination with Jammu, We want local VC” the scholars led by Vikas Sharma, JURSEA president deplored the UPA alliance for not treating Jammu as par with Kashmir.

Vikas Sharma speaking on the occasion accused the Congress of discriminating with the Jammu division since independence and further charged the present leadership of Congress at Centre as well in state of ignoring the genuine demand of the Jammuites.

He also castigated the Prime Minister for maintaining silence when the entire state was reeling under the violence during the Amarnath land controversy in the recent times & further urged the people not to vote the party in the ongoing elections.

Later on the scholars dispersed of peacefully.
