BCFI constitutes "MAHA SABHA"
Jammu, Nov10: To give direction to the genuine aspirations of the backward classes and to protect against their exploitation by political parties a "Maha-Sabha" has been formulated by Backward Classes Federation of India to co-ordinate the affairs of all the sections of backward classes in Jammu and Kashmir
The Maha-Sabha was constituted in the Annual General Meeting of the Backward Classes Federation of India held at Vishwakarma Sabha Complex, Rani Talab, Digiana here today
Manohar lal, President of the Maha Sabha announced different committees including the Screening Committee for selecting ten candidates who would be empowered by the Federation to launch a separate Political Party and also to announce the names of candidates for different Assembly segments. The Federation also directed the Screening Committee to complete its assignment at the earliest keeping in view the ongoing process of elections in the State.
The new president was assigned powers to decide future course of action and nominate candidates for assembly constituencies.
Finally, the meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to all the participants. Prominent amongst the speakers were Nek Ram Dofara, H.L.Verma, Bua Ditta, and Ashok Kumar Basotra. (NAK)
