Srinagar Nov 05: Terming the self rule and Autonomy formulae just an attempt to dilute the core issue of Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Front president Hakeem Mohd Yasin said that Kashmir issue can only be solved by dialogue process between India and Pakistan involving separatist parties of Kashmir. Addressing the one day joint worker's convention of chadora and chrari-chrief assembly segments at his residence, Hakeem said "Kashmir was enjoying autonomy before 1953 but Kashmir issue still existed there and is still a dispute between India and Pakistan". "Self rule and autonomy documents have nothing to do with vexed Kashmir issue, said Hakeem and added that it can only be solved by meaningful dialogue between India and Pakistan involving the separatist parties of Kashmir . "Elections are no solution to Kashmir issue and neither can they be so in the future" said Hakeem and added that elections are meant for the upliftment of democracy and governance to run the administrative and developmental affairs smoothly. Reacting sharply on the ongoing operation against separatist leaders, Hakeem termed these arrests unfortunate. He said that these arrests can further aggravate the volatile situation ad governor administration should adopt other ways and means to ensure the free, fair and peaceful election so that the trust in democratic process is restored. A resolution was passed in convention appealing party president to accelerate its attempts in building consensus among India and Pakistan to solve the Kashmir issue peacefully without any further delay.
