Srinagar October 16: A day after separatists threatened to strongly oppose any move to lease out a piece of land in Pampore to the CRPF, Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday said no land has been leased out to the para-military force in the saffron-rich township.
"No land has been leased out to the CRPF at Pampore ", an official spokesman said.
He said for allotment of land to the army and para-military forces, a no-objection certificate is required to be issued by the State Home Department.
This NOC is issued only after the case is cleared by a committee of officers constituted by the government for the purpose, he said.
He said no such NOC has been sought or issued by the Home Department in this case.
Reacting to a proposal to lease out 18.12 acres of land in Pampore to the paramilitary force for 90 years, the moderate faction of the Hurriyat Conference on Wednesday said it will oppose any such move "tooth and nail" but peacefully.
Meanwhile, a spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Industries (JKI) also clarified that it has not alloted any land to the CRPF.
He said while the request of CRPF for allotment of land is lying with JKI, no money has been received nor any allotment letter issued.
