Taj inaugurates Rs. 4.73 cr godown at Drugmula

Kupwara, May 02 (INFO)-Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Taj Mohi-ud-Din inaugurated the Food godown constructed by the Food Corporation of India at a total cost of Rs. 4.37 crore at Drugmula Kupwara today. This is the first big godown constructed in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the government is committed to provide all basic facilities to people living in border and far flung areas of the state. He said not only inhabitants of Drugmula-Kupwara, Uri but inhabitants of Karnah and Machail would be facilitated by the godown.
While reviewing stock and supply position of essentials, the Deputy Commissioner apprised the Minister that foodgrains are available to cater to the requirements of people of the area for one month more.

Secretary Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Khalid Habib, Director, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Abdul Majeed, General Manager, Food Corporation of India Farooq Ahmad Khan and senior Congress leader Ghulam Rasool Kar were present at the function.
