DC Bandipora visits Gurez, inspects dev works
Ganderbal, September 17- District Development Commissioner, Bandipora Shiekh Mushtaq Ahmad alongwith a team of officers today visited Buduab, Buglinder, Budugam, Tetran, Malangam, Suradaab, Hassangam and dozens of villages in border and far flung area of Tulail valley situated on the banks of the river Kishan Ganga. He interacted with the people and enquired about the availability of ration, k-oil, power, drinking water and other basic needs of life.
He also inspected dozens of development works including hospital and school buildings, roads, bridges, food stores and diesel generator sheds.
The District Development Commissioner laid foundation stone of protection bunds under National Rural Employment Generation Programme at Suradaab. Rs. 3 lakh are being spent on the said work which will generate 2500 mandays of work for the unskilled labours of the village. He inspected development works at Model Village Budugam coming up at a cost of Rs. 1.20 crore. He also had a review meeting at Buduaab where it was given out that Rs. 8.20 crore under district plan are being spent on the execution of development work in Gurez tehsil.
He also visited Malangam village where some explosions had occurred on September 15, causing death to two children and injuries to one boy. He directed SDM to prepare relief cases of the deceased forthwith.
The DDC, during the visit also inspected various polling booths in the area.
