HM Commander arrested in North Kashmir

Srinagar, Sept 15: Jammu Kashmir police claimed to have arrested a self styled district commander of Hizbul Mujahideen Zaingeer Unisoo area of Handwara in Kupwara district of North Kashmir.
Police spokesman told News Agency of Kashmir that on specific information Handwara police launched a search operation in Zaingeer area of Handwara and arrested Hizbul Mujahideen district commander who was active for the last seven years.
Police identified the arrested militant commander as Mohd Yousuf Ganai alias Moulvi alias Babber son of Mohd sultan Ganai R/o Dooru Sopore.
The arrested militant was PoK trained militant and was active in valley since 2001. Two Chinese grenades were recovered from his possession.
