41273 job cards distributed in Anantnag

Srinagar, September 13- Under National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) 41273 job cards have been distributed in Anantnag district so far this fiscal generating 44000 mandays of work. This has helped to provide employment avenues to 2674 families in the district
This was stated at a meeting of officers chaired by Additional District Development Commissioner Anantnag here today. The meeting was convened to review implementation of rural development works in the district. It was informed that under NREGA 444 works were taken up at a cost of Rs 7.52 crore, of which 26 works have been completed involving an expenditure of Rs 46.18 lakh. Under SGSY, 845 lucrative units are being established at a cost of Rs 1.92 crore in the district. Fifty two such units stand set up. For this purpose, an interest subsidy of Rs 7.20 lakh has been provided to the beneficiaries. Similarly, under IWDP, work is in progress on six haryali projects in the district.
