Handwara police arrests 2militants of LeT, Al-Badr

Srinagar Sept 03: Police claimed to have arrested two local trained militants belonging to Al-Badr and Lashkar from two separate places in Handwara area of North Kashmir.
Police spokesman quoting SP Handwara said that Police on specific information regarding the presence of Irshad Ahmad Shah @Bhai near Ziyarat Sharief Marathgam, succeeded in arresting two local trained militants from Wader and Mawar areas of Handwara.One of the local trained militant namely Shabir Ahmad Magray alias Umer Khitab son of Ghulam Nabi Magray of Nowpora Payeen Tehsil and District Pulwama belonged to LeT outfit. Shabir Ahmad Magray alias Umer Khitab had initially joined Al Badr out fit of Tamim group. Tamim Ahmad of Pakistan is Al-Badr commander for North Kashmir.
Later on, the arrested militant joined the ranks of LeT and continued to work as LeT cadre under the command of Abu Hatif R/O Pakistan at Rajwar Handwara. Shabir Ahmad was arrested by a team of Handwara Police, Baramulla Police, 125 Bn CRPF and 21 RR from a maize field at Wader Rajwar Handwara.One hand grenade was recovered from his possession.
Another local trained militant Irshad Ahmad Shah @ Bhai S/O Sona-ullha Shah R/O Safapora Qaziabad Handwara of Al-Badr outfit was working directly under the command of Al-Badr Commander Tamim Ahmad R/O Pakistan. Irshad Ahmad @ Bhai has been instrumental in various militant activities of Al-Badr across Rafiabad, Qaziabad and Mawar areas of Baramulla and Handwara.
Handwara Police received specific information regarding the presence of Irshad Ahmad Shah @Bhai near Ziyarat Sharief Marathgam. Accordingly a team of Handwara Police and 30 RR arrested the said local trained militant near ziyarat Sharief Marathgam and two hand grenades were recovered from his possession
