BJP asks governor to clarify stand on Amarnath land
Jammu July 25: The BJP on Friday said leaders spearheading an agitation against revocation of land transfer to Sri Amarnath Shrine Board were ready to hold talks with Governor N N Vohra, if he clarifies the government's stand on the issue.
"The governor should clarify stand on the issue. Vohra has been making accusations that leaders of the current movement in Jammu were not coming forward for talks," a BJP spokesman told reporters in Jammu.
He said party leaders were scheduled to meet governor on June 30 to discuss the land transfer issue. But, Vohra had written to the then Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad informing SASB's decision to withdraw request for forest land diversion.
The BJP leader accused the administration of failing to ensure uninterrupted power supply in Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch districts.
