EPI work going apace

Anantnag, July 12 (INFO)-Over 20 per cent work regarding issuance of Election Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) among voters have so far been completed in Anantnag district and the job is going on smoothly.

This was revealed at a meeting of Electoral Registration, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and Booth Level Officers of Anantnag district held here today with the District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner Anantnag) Jaipal Singh in chair.

The meeting reviewed and discussed in detail various issues relating to updation of Electoral Rolls, issuance of EPICs and pre-poll arrangements.

The District Election Officer stressed upon the officers for physical verification of polling stations and their buildings. He asked for continuous updation of Electoral Rolls and sending weekly reports to his office in this regard.

The District Election Officer impressed upon the officers engaged with election work to maintain close coordination so that the work is completed in time.
