Sheep population reaches 3.24 lakh in Kup

Kupwara, July 11- The Sheep population in Kupwara district has risen to 3.24 lakh including 1.59 lakh cross bred animals. During the current fiscal, Rs. 11 lakh have been allocated for promotion of sheep sector in the district against last year's allotment of Rs. 9.82 lakh. The Sheep Husbandry department through its various centres treated over three lakh sheep and vaccinated 1.74 lakh animals during the period.
