Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana introduced in J&K
Srinagar, June 06 (INFO)- Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana (AABY) has been introduced in Jammu and Kashmir to extend death and disability insurance cover to the rural landless and houseless families. The Social Welfare department has been nominated as nodal agency for implementing the scheme under which rural landless and houseless in the age group of 18 to 59 years can avail benefits to the tune of Rs. 30,000 in case of natural death, Rs. 75,000 in case of accidental death or permanent disability and Rs. 37,500 in the event of partial permanent disability due to an accident. The premium of Rs. 200 per member will be shared by the central and state governments in the ratio of 50:50 each. All the intending beneficiaries have been asked to contact their respective Tehsil Social Welfare Offices for availing benefits of the scheme.
