Teacher's role in character building of students highlighted

Baramulla, June 02 (INFO)-It is obligatory for teaching community to provide moral education along side academic education to the students which would not only help build their character but also make them law abiding citizens. Teachers are the architect of the nation and as such, have the prime responsibility of shaping the future of budding youth.

            These ideas were expressed by the speakers while dwelling on the topic "The role of teachers in present scenario" organized by Baramulla and Sopore education zones at Dak Bungalow Sopore yesterday. They emphasized that elementary education being the thrust area in school education system, all the basic facilities need to be provided for better results adding that the quality education would be the basis to achieve the excellences in educational set up. The teacher's resolve, they said should be to wipe out the stigma of illiteracy from the state besides they should be well versed with all the activities going on in the fields of science and technology. The speakers called upon the educationists, officers, literary persons and parents to come forward to realize the dream of total literacy and gear up the Education department to achieve the tangible results.

            On this occasion, fare well was accorded to outgoing Chief Education Officer, Baramulla and Zonal Education Officer, Sopore for their distinguished service rendered by them for promotion of education system during their tenure. These officers attained superannuation yesterday.
