SKUAST organizes training course on food processing

Srinagar, May 18 (INFO)-The Directorate of Extension Education SKUAST-K Shalimar Srinagar organized a training course on "Food Processing" under self employment for rural youth with the special reference to farm women from April 23 to May 17, 2008 at Food Processing-cum-training Centre, Division of Post Harvest Technology, SKUAST-K, three boys and 20 girls participated and attained the training. The participants were given some honorarium too.

On the concluding session today, the Director Extension Education, Prof. G.M. Wani while distributing the certificates among the trainees gave them all encouragement and wished to have their own food processing set ups. They have prepared a number of value added products from fruits and vegetables.

Member Legislative Assembly Mrs. Khem Lata Wakhloo was the pivotal person to get these programmes initiated by SAMETI. She too went personally to monitor the mid session of the trainings. She has promised to help these trainees in setting up of their small self employment units. All the trainees were confident and praised the training organized by the Directorate.
