After Jammu `Ladakh – An Eternal Splendour' screened in Delhi

New Delhi May 16: After gathering huge applause and appreciations for its uniqueness and elegant blend of marvelous photographs portraying the splendid beauty of the "Moon Land" Ladakh in shape of a photo-documentary 'Ladakh - An Eternal Splendour', a photo documentary dedicated to the people of Ladakh in the memory of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, was screened today in the Auditorium of National Museum, New Delhi.
Conceived by VK Soi the photo-documentary was witnessed by Smt. Ambika Soni, Union Minister for Tourism & Culture,Smt. Kanti Singh, Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, besides galaxy of senior Officers from Ministry of Tourism & Culture and Archeological Survey of India.
The photo-documentary which is a blend of unique, marvelous photographs portraying the splendid beauty of Ladakh gathered applause from the dignitaries of the Ministry of Tourism and they appreciated the work done by Mr Soi to bring before the people of the world the unique beauty of the Ladakh.
It is pertinent to mentioned that this photo-documentary was first screened in Jammu on 21st of April, 2008 was appreciated by one and all and it is all because of its uniqueness that it was later called for screening in National Museum, New Delhi by the Ministry of Tourism & Culture after the persuasion of Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Member Parliament and former Chief Minister of J&K State who himself appreciated it and found a great potential in it of being screened in an larger arena, so that the beauty of this part of the region of the state is placed before the world.
The effort of Soi depicts his love and devotion towards the unknown beauty of this moon land. Soi has put his all efforts to bring out the nature's carved beauty of this unexplored area of the world, said a senior officer in the Ministry of Tourism.
"Such a beautiful work will definitely help in increasing the tourist influx in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and especially Ladakh, if portrayed in the right earnest" was the unanimous view of the viewers.
Appreciating the commendable work done by the Aryan Communications in elegantly compiling the photo-documentary, they said, "it depicts the real professionalism and has added charm to it".
V.K. Soi who is presently working as Comptroller, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu was very much influenced by the scenic beauty of Ladakh when he first visited Ladakh in the year 1990 in official capacity as Financial Advisor Finance Deptt and thereafter in the year 1996. From there this annunciation arose and it took him almost 17 years to complete this blend of photo & documentary.
Prominent among others who were present on the screening of the photo-documentary included Secretary Tourism Govt of India, Dr. Shilabhadara Banerjee, Jt. Secretary & FA Shri E.K. Bharatbhushan, Secretary Culture Govt of India – Shri Abhijeet Sein Gupta, Director General Tourism, Dy. Director General Tourism, Shri Sanjay Kothari, Director General National Museum, Jt. Secretary Tourism Smt. Leena Nandan, Advisor Tourism Dr. Manas Bhattacharya, Additional Director General Archeological Survey of India Shri Vijay S. Madan, Director Conservation National Museum, Govt of India, Director Administration National Museum, Miss Malvika Singh, Shri Rajeev Shetty, Mr., Sajjad Mirza and others.
