Police Public School holds drug de-addiction awareness program

Srinagar, July 21: A drug de-addiction awareness program was held in Police Public School Bemina, Srinagar, where a team of experts from Police Drug De-addiction Centre educated the school children of 8th 9th, 10th, and 12th classes about Drug Addiction and its prevention. This program was held as a part of School Mental Health Program launched by PCR Kashmir.

The students were taken by individual counsellors is different groups and where educated about Drug addiction and its treatment process and identification of various stresses and their management. The Drug De-addiction Centre initiated School Mental Health program to prevent future generation from drug menace and has so for covered three schools and colleges and plans to cover all the schools of district Srinagar.  

All the students along with teaching staff assembled in the auditorium for a interactive session between experts and students. A brief talk was delivered by Dr Mohammad Muzaffar Khan Incharge Police Drug de-addiction Centre emphasizing on prevention of drug addiction and dealing of day to day stress related problems.

 All the students took a pledge in presence of the teachers and Dr Muzaffar by saying “No to Drugs”.

The program was concluded with the vote of thanks by Principal Police Public School Bemina in which he wished to continue such programs and encouraged the students to come up with their personal problems and seek help from Stress Management Centre of Police Drug de-addiction Centre of PCR Kashmir. Later the team assured the students about the confidentiality of information.
