Rs. 17.16 cr advanced for 1354 IG Units in Ganderbal
Ganderbal, September 08 – An amount of Rs. 17.16 crore has been advanced under Annul Credit Action Plan in Ganderbal district upto end of June 2009 for setting up of 1354 Income Generating Units.
It was given out in District Consultative Committee meeting held here under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal, Mr. I.H. Bari. The meeting was attended by representatives of various Banks and line officers of various departments which include Lead Bank Officer, Mr. Tasuduq Ahmad Aalamgir and Mr. Altaf Hussain.
Reviewing the achievement of various financial institutions, it was given out in the meeting that Rs. 10.86 crore have been advanced under priority sector under which 1023 income generating units were established. Under Non-priority sector, 331 income generating units were set up in the district by providing Rs. 6.30 crore as loan.
The meeting was further informed that under Farm and SSI, Rs. 2.59 crore have been advanced for setting up of 291 income generating units. Likewise under trade and services sector, Rs. 5.62 crore have been provided as loan for establishing 483 such units while under Agriculture sector, Rs. 2.65 crore were advanced for setting up of 249 income generating units.
The District Development Commissioner stressed upon the bankers to relax in rules for providing advances to the educated unemployed youth of the district. He asked the concerned agencies also to finalize their cases without further delay.
