Speaker for awareness campaign to popularize industrial schemes
Srinagar Sep 07: Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr. Mohammad Akbar Lone has asked the officers of Industries department to launch an awareness campaign and organize workshops in Sonawari constituency to aware the people about the schemes launched by the department for their benefit. In this regard, he said the Banks should also come forward in a more profound manner.
Mr. Lone was chairing a meeting of sectoral and district officers of Ganderbal district to review the projects and welfare schemes proposed for the current year’s plan for district Ganderbal. District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal, Syed Iftikhar Hassnain, all sectoral and district officers of Ganderbal attended the meeting.
The Speaker asked the Health department authorities to construct two residential flats for Doctors and para-medical staff of PHC at Safapora. He also asked them to provide ultrasonography machine to the PHC and also propose its upgradation to Community Health Centre Level.
Threadbare discussions were also held with regard to various projects proposed under different sectors for the current year’s plan. He was informed that construction of tourist information centre, upgradation of Narbal-Kanndubal road, development of camp sites and wayside amenities have been proposed for the fiscal.
The Speaker asked the officers to work with utmost zeal and dedication and complete all ongoing developmental works in a stipulated time. He exhorted them to involve local representatives while formulating any project so that better results are achieved.
Mr. Lone asked the Education department authorities to explore proposing construction of school building of Nowabadi Mohalla in current year’s plan so that the long pending demand of the people of the area is met. He was informed that 28 schools of Sonawari constituency fall in Ganderbal district.
It was informed in the meeting that the construction work of 4 room additional accommodation of Government High School, Safapora at a cost of Rs. 24.94 lakh and compound walling costing Rs. 13.44 lakh are in full swing. 17 KM Behama-Safapora road costing Rs. 2.40 crores has been macadamized while under NABARD assistance Rs. 6.36 crore have been projected for improvement and upgradation of inner links in Safapora.
The meeting was informed that development of parking areas and picnic spots, construction of club building and sports centre, open air theatre and eco-tourist park, fish pond, office building and development of children’s park are nearing completion.
