FCIK holds interaction with Secretary MSME

Srinagar Sep 07: Federation of Chamber of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) held an interaction programme with Secretary, Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Mr. Dinesh Rai on Sunday evening at SKICC.
Besides, Economic Advisor to Government of J&K, Mr. Jaleel Ahmed Khan, Director Industries, Kashmir, Mr. Farooq Ahmed Fattoo, President (FCIK), Mr. Shakeel Qalander, a number of trade and industry representatives attended the interaction programme.
The Federation during the interaction raised various issues involving development of industrial infrastructure in the State by way of liberal funding, approval for establishing of minimum 20 cluster in next two years across the state. It was also demanded for grant of clusters under SIURTI with the schemes of fund for regularization of traditional industries starting with pottery, willow furniture, wooden khatumbandi ceilings, paper mashie and handlooms.
Regarding for providing of marketing assistance to the industrial sector in the State purchase, FCIK demanded price preference as well as exemption from earnest money in Central government departments need to be made applicable in the State. The federation asked for launch of a special camp for single point registration of state enterprises for marketing of products in Central government departments, besides participation in national and international exhibition be kept at par with the entrepreneurs of North Eastern States.
FCIK, besides making the demand to re-establish the office of MSME, NSIC, SIDBI and others in the valley stressed for establishing of a credit monitoring cell, at Srinagar to look into the slow implementation of the Credit Guarantee Fund Scheme, collateral free finance for micro units up to Rs. 5 lakh, waive of entire outstanding against J&K SFC and providing of direct financing from SIDBI.
It was also stressed that frequent entrepreneurs councilling should be conducted in the state. Besides, liberal funding under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme need to be ensured.
