Taj warns of stern action against erring PHE, Irrigation, FC employees
Srinagar, July 10: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud-Din has asked those of the field staff employees working in departments of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control who have reportedly attained the age of superannuation but are still working in the department to voluntarily apply for retirement or face the Medical Board to ascertain their actual age.
The Minister has said that persons found guilty, all the benefits and pay received by them for those years would be recovered. The Minister assured of full pensionery benefits to those of employees who volunteer themselves.
The Minister was today addressing the district administration Baramulla, at Chandanwari, Uri during a meeting of District Officers convened by him to take stock of the development works under execution in the district in various sectors. He also took review of the achievements registered under various welfare sectors.
It was given in the meeting that out of 30 filtration plants which were under execution in the district, 13 stand completed besides, out of 91 service reservoirs, 75 have been completed and 49 already stand commissioned while the rest of the filtration plants and service reservoirs are expected to be completed during current fiscal year.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister emphasized upon the officers to redouble their efforts and complete all the under execution schemes within the stipulated time so that potable water is provided in the targeted areas. He directed the ICDS and Social Welfare departments to conduct a fresh survey of the beneficiaries covered under various welfare programmes so that deserving people receive the benefits of the welfare programmes.
The Minister stressed upon the functionaries to work with dedication and work for implementing the welfare programmes. He said problems faced by the people need to be addressed on priority and steer the state towards the path of progress and development. He asked the administration to work with renewed vigour and dedication and warned of stern action against the erring officers.
The Minister also directed for ensuring accessibility with the general public and stressed upon the officers to evolve a mechanism for holding public hearing on regular basis. Reaffirming coalition government’s commitment to provide basic amenities to the people, the Minister said that the grievances if any would be redressed at an earliest. He stressed the need for speeding up the implementation of schemes so that the benefit of these schemes percolates down to the grass root level.
The meeting was among others attended by district officers and heads of line departments. (NAK)
