VDC member shot dead, another injuried in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar July 08: Unidentified gunmen suspected to be the militants fired upon VDC member at Chiti Nadi Behak Damhal Hanji Pora, resulting in his on the spot death and injuries to 14 year old boy.

Informed sources said that a group of unidentified armed persons suspected to be the militants barged into the house of a VDC member and open indiscriminate firing on the inmates killing VDC member on the spot and injured another boy.

Identified as Akbar Gorsi son of Ghulam Qadir Gorsi and Farid Gorsi son of Shafi resident of Doga Dewil Mohare Reasi were shifted to Hospital where doctors declared Akbar Gursi as brought dead.

The body of the deceased VDC member was handed over to the family members after completing legal formalities, while Farid Gorsi was admitted in district hospital Anantnag. Police has registered a case in this regard and launched a man hunt to trace the killers. (NAK)
