1 dead, 31 injured in road mishaps across J&K

Srinagar/Jammu July 08: One person died while thirty one others suffered injuries in separate road accidents across the Jammu and Kashmir since last night.

Official sources said that in Kashmir L.P Truck (JK01A-8533) hit and injured Saja Begum 55 years, wife of Mohammad Maqbool Lone resident of Tumpora Handwara at Giripora who was declared as brought dead at Sub district Hospital Handwara.

A Maruti Car (JK05-5824) and Maruti Zen (JK1E-3036) collided with each other near Vidyala Mir Gund on National Highway, falling under the jurisdiction of police station Pattan, resulting in injuries to one boarded lady Amina daughter of Abdul Rehman Sofi resident of Pattan. The Injured was hospitalized.

TATA Sumo (Jk02N-4295) hit and injured Sanath Ram, son of Thokar Jee at Kadlabal Pampore who has been hospitalized.

In Jammu at least twenty nine persons suffered injuries in two separate road mishap at different places since last night.

In a road mishap fourteen passengers suffered injuries when a Mini Bus in which they were traveling skidded off the road and turned turtle at road at Bal Sharma late last night.

The ill fated vehicle (3815-JK02K) was on its way from Sunderbani to Lamberi when the mishap took place.

On receipt of the information police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to SDH Sunderbani, where critically six wounded persons have been shifted to GMC Jammu for specialized treatment.

They have been identified as Jabida daughter of Habib Ullah of Chambli, Surinder Kumar s/o Muni Lal r/o Siot, Krishna Devi w/o Hans Raj r/o Siot, Ruksana Begum d/o Mir Qasim r/o Siot, Kanta Devi w/o Joginder Pal r/o Kulbani and Nirmal Devi w/o R.K.Sharma of Kalideh.

In another road mishap fifteen persons were injured when a Tempo traveler bearing registration No. 8595/JK02L skidded off the road and rolled down at Marnu Jalli late last night. The injured were shifted to SDH Darhal . Case to this effect stands registered at PS Darhal. (NAK)
