Selection process for recruitment in Police in final stage: DGP
Srinagar July 06: The selection process for recruitment of five IRP Battalions, Executive Police and Telecommunication Wing in Jammu and Kashmir Police in its final stage. These posts were advertised for recruitment early this year and the task of selection was entrusted to Police Recruitment Boards at range-level, headed by respective Range DIGs.
The Director General of Police, Mr. Kuldeep Khoda disclosed here today that as may as 8058 posts were advertised through various advertisement notices issued from PHQ for filling up of vacancies in five IRP battalions, Executive Police and Telecommunication Wing during 2008-2009.
Mr. Khoda said concerned Range Police Recruitment Boards started the selection process as per the recruitment norms and guidelines laid down for filling up of the newly-created posts. During the selection process, the candidates were put to various ground and physical tests. He said that entire selection process has been formulated in such a manner to ensure complete transparency.
Mr. Khoda stated that the recruitment process has been completed in Range Anantnag for IRP battalions and in Srinagar Range for Executive Police. He said the selection lists for 2428 candidates have been issued so far. These include 1317 in IR battalions, and 1111 in Executive Police. He said the selected candidates have been asked to report to concerned authorities for joining.
Mr. Khoda said the selection of candidates for the remaining advertised vacancies in all the police ranges is in final stage and the selection lists would be issued shortly.
