Dy CM meets Union MoS for Youth Affairs & Sports

Srinagar, July 05: Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, Pratik P. Patil, called on Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, here today. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various issues of youth welfare and sports.

Tara Chand, while emphasizing on the need to channelize youth energy into creative and constructive activities, said that due to turbulent times in the State, the youth have suffered a lot and now there is an immediate need to engage them into constructive state building activities. Different Central government schemes can go a long way in grooming the talent of the State’s young brigade, he added.

The Deputy Chief Minister said the State has abundance of talent in various sports and some of the sportspersons have even distinguished themselves at national and international level. He called for Centre’s support to further hone the skill of youth so that they also emerge on the national scene in a big way.

Patil assured all-round support from the Central government in tapping the talent of the youth and promotion of sports in the State.(NAK)
