Howover, chairman of moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq was released from house arrest.

Chairman of breakaway HC Syed Ali Shah Geelani and about 20 other senior separatist leaders, including Shabir Ahmad Shah remained under detention in different jails and police stations.

When Mr Malik along with about 25 other front leaders reached at Awantipora on Srinagar-Shopian road, he was arrested.
