Sagar tours Srinagar city says Malkah dev project on anvil

Srinagar, June 27: Continuing with the drive to personally monitor ongoing developmental works and get instant feedback from people to solve their problems on-the-spot, Minister For Rural Development and Panchayats, Ali Mohammad Sagar, conducted a tour of Srinagar city today.

The Minister was accompanied by Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Khawja Farooq Ahmad Renzu, District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Mehraj-u-Din Kakroo and senior officers of various executing agencies like UEED, R&B and PHE.

While interacting with the people, Sagar reiterated government’s resolve to provide quality civic amenities to the people. He said the government is aware of the problems confronting the people and they would be redressed within shortest possible time.

Responding to the demands, the Minister assured the people at Malkah, Nowhatta, that the project which was the dream of late Sher-e-Kashmir would be taken up soon and completed at an earliest

The Minister stressed upon the officers to complete the ongoing developmental works within the stipulated time. He also asked them to keep local needs in mind while implementing the projects.

Sagar also inspected the ongoing blacktopping of the city roads and pace of work of double-storeyed community hall, being constructed with an estimated cost of Rs. 81 lakh at Khanyar. He was informed that it would be completed within coming 45 days. The hall having state-of-the-art facilities will cater to the demands of the people living in adjoining areas, who were facing difficulties due to absence of the same.

Sagar also paid obeisance at Ziarat of Khawaja Bahaudin Sahib, Ganj Baksh at Nowhatta and directed the officers to make necessary arrangements for the devotees so that they do not face any inconvenience during the ongoing annual Urs.
