Azad to work as a bridge between state and the centre

Srinagar June 25: Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today said he would like to work as a bridge between the centre and Jammu and Kashmir to ensure development of the border state.
"As in the past, I would like to work as a bridge between the Centre and the State so that the targets set for development are achieved, which will bring in progress and prosperity to Jammu and Kashmir," Azad said speaking at a civil reception hosted by Srinagar Municipal Corporation in his honour here today.
Azad assured that the Central government will extend all financial assistance to the state to help it achieve its development targets. "I am confident that coalition government will carry forward its agenda of good governance,"he said adding"it is imperative for the state&aposs development that spillover projects are completed without further delay so that new projects can be taken in hand."
Without naming anybody Azad cautioned people against certain elements who are bent upon destroying the state&aposs economy, which would impede the development of the state in the long run.
The state has suffered a lot on account of frequent shutdowns which have weakened the economy and severely dented tourism potential, He said.
