Jammu and Kashmir cabinet expansion shortly

Srinagar June 24: With the ruling alliance partners in the state National Conference (NC) and the Congress reaching an agreement on ministerial inclusions, the Jammu and Kashmir cabinet is likely to be expanded shortly.
Sources here told IANS that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and state Congress chief Saif-ud-Din Soz have finalised the list and the state cabinet is likely to be expanded in the next few days.
Interestingly, former ministers Ghulam Hassan Mir and Hakim Muhammad Yaseen of the Democratic Party (Nationalist) were among the probables to get a cabinet berth besides senior Congress leader Chowdhary Muhammad Aslam and NC leaders Mustafa Kamal, Chowdhary Muhammad Ramzan and Sakina Itto, said the sources.
"The Congress would get eight slots and the NC seven in the cabinet expansion. Besides these names, others from both the parties would be included as junior ministers to accommodate various constituencies of the alliance partners," a source here said.
