Srinagar-June-24:All Jammu Kashmir Students Front (AJKSF) took out a protest demonstration against the rape and murder of a student and her sister in law recently in Shopian and in solidarity with the students of Shopian who have gone for indefinite strike from the past 25 days demanding justice and stringent punishment to the culprits involved in this heinous crime.

AJKSF spokesman said that “we held this protest rally to register our protest against the rape and then murder of a meritorious student (Asiya) and her sister in law (Neelofar) by the wolves in human mask, in support and solidarity of students of Shopian who are fighting for justice and punishment to the killers involved in this barbaric act and against the unruly behavior and use of brute force against the peaceful students protests in Pulwama, Kulgam and Ganderbal. The demonstration started from Islamia College of Science & Commerce in which hundreds of students participated carrying banners and raising slogans against this shameful act and in support of students of Shopian and were demanding stern punishment to the culprits involved. The students marched through Hawal, Mirzakamil Sahab chowk, Alamgari bazaar, Zadibal, Sazgari pora and adjoining areas and then the protest rally culminated peacefully”.

Those protest demonstration was lead by Wasim Shah, Ovase Khan, Irshad Ali, Mir Iqbal, Fayaz Ahmad, Ruheal Rasheed, Zulkarnain and others.

Meanwhile AJKSF has strongly condemned the efforts being held by some behind the curtain powers who want to weaken the Shopian rape and murder case so as to cover and shield the real perpetrators of this dastardly crime committed against whole humanity and hailed the resolve and steadfastness of Shopian students and has once again appealed to the government to hand over the stern punishment to those involved in it which will help in ending the stalemate in Shopian as due to it people particularly students have been badly affected by the continuous strike there.
