Mirwaiz for positive British role in K-resolution Fulfill moral obligation: Yaseen Malik

Srinagar June 23: While chairman of his faction of Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq urged upon British to play positive role in resolving Kashmir issue, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chief Yaseen Malik asked the United Kingdom to fulfill its moral responsibility to resolve the issue.
A delegation of British headed by Jasper Thorenten, Secretary Political British Kingdom, called up on Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at his Nigeen residence Tuesday.
A spokesman of the amalgam told Press Bureau of India that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, raised the Shopian rape and murder incident besides “various other worst human rights violations” with the visiting delegation.
Mirwaiz also had a detail discussion over the restrictions on the movement of Hurriyat leaders including detaining and placing them under house arrest. The Hurriyat Conference chairman also held a detailed discussion about the Kashmir issue and brought to the notice of visiting delegation the “dangerous situation in the valley’, the spokesman added.
Mirwaiz stressed upon British to play positive role which will pave way for the perpetual solution of Kashmir.
The delegation which comprised besides Thorenten, Susheel Airon, later met Yaseen Malik, at Maisuma in uptown here.
The JKLF chief asked the delegation to fulfill its moral obligation “as in 1947 after leaving from the region had kept the issue hanging and the Kashmir issue continues to be a threat to peace in entire south Asia.”
“From last fifteen year, European countries and America have been stressing on Kashmiris to launch peaceful agitation and the people here also respected the urge and brought about the historical shift in their struggle,” Yaseen malik told the delegation, a spokesman of the front told Press Bureau of India.
“However, India resorted to restrictions, clamping curfew, invoked black laws and other means to suppress the movement.
He urged upon international community especially British ‘which is a close friend of New Delhi’ to influence upon India to stop what he termed as ‘violence’ and prevent Kashmiris from taking to old route.
Yaseen Malik also brought attention of various ‘worst human rights violations’ in Kashmir including the tragic incident of Shopian.
He hoped that British would use its influence for demilitarization and release of all detainees. He reiterated that resolution of Kashmir will guarantee peace in world.
