Azad assures people of J&K improved and better medicare facilities

Srinagar, June 23: Assuring better and improved Medicare facilities to the people of the state, Union Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad exhorted upon the medical professionals to work with zeal and dedication to serve the people.

The Minister said this while inspecting District Hospital Anantnag and sub-district hospital Kokernag here today.

Azad while stressing for expediting the progress of developmental works, assured of liberal funding on the ongoing projects in health sector from the Centre.

The Union Health Minister during the visit of the sub-district hospital Kokernag inspected the ongoing developmental work. At district hospital Anantnag the Minister went round different wards and interacted with the patients. He inquired about the in- and outdoor Medicare facilities available to the patients.

Azad said that to work out the feasibility of a medical college in Anantnag district a team of experts will soon visit the district and submit a report for the same as 200 kanals of land are available for the purpose.

Later the Union Health Minister while addressing a function organized by Municipal Council Anantnag announced an amount of Rs. 20 lakh for setting up of a Press club at Anantnag. However, Azad asked the concerned to identify the land for the purpose. (NAK)
