Militant gunned down in Doda

Jammu June 22: Police claimed to have gunned down a militant in an encounter which broke out when militants fire on the joint operation party in Bharat area of district Doda late last night.

Official sources said that on specific information a joint operation was launched by Doda Police,5RR, 76 BN CRPF in Bharat Area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Doda one LET militant was gunned down in an encounter which lasted for one hour.

The slain militant identified as Mohammad Aslam Bhat S/O Ghulam Hussain R/O Krothwan Doda was missing since September 2008 and a report was also loged with police. He after joining LeT later joined HM.

One 303 Rifle, 4 Pika rounds and one hand grenade has been recovered from the slain militant.(NAK)
