JKML registers Rs. 7.99 cr revenue during last fiscal
Srinagar, June 19: Jammu & Kashmir Minerals Limited (JKML) has earned revenue of Rs. 7.99 crore during the last fiscal, while the Corporation has a set target of Rs. 20.41 crore for the current financial year.
This information was given during 161st Board of Directors meeting of JKML, here today. Minister for Industries and Commerce, Surjit Singh Slathia chaired the meeting.
Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Anil Goswami, Secretary, JKML, A. S. Hussain, Director Geology & Mining Department, Shabir Ahmad Kanth, Managing Director, JKML, V. C. Sharma and representative of finance department attended the meeting.
Detailed discussions were held on various agenda points which included confirmation of the minutes of the previous Board meeting, restructuring of the company, release of stagnation increment, budgetary proposals for 2009-10, current year’s performance, and adoption of accounts and revised pay scale in the corporation.
The meeting was informed that the corporation has generated revenue to the tune of Rs. 6.02 crore against the sale of 15326 mts of coal during last financial year. To make the coal mining activities more viable, the production/ sale target has been fixed at 30,000 Mts for the current financial year, the meeting was told.
It was given out in the meeting that the corporation has also generated revenue of Rs. 1.65 crore from sale of 21365.055 Mts. of gypsum extracted from Gypsum mines of Assar, and Parlanka of Doda and Ramban districts during last fiscal.
The meeting was told to expand the mining activities in the state, the corporation has initiated the process of opening of some old potential based mines including Sair and Beroga. For scientific exploration of sapphire from world famous sapphire mine, Padder in Kishtwar district, the corporation has conducted a detailed survey through Geological Survey of India, the meeting was told.
The meeting also decided to frame sub-committee for settling various issues in a time-bound manner for development of JKML and the welfare of the employees. (NAK)
