Iqbal's message a panacea to end up world conflicts: Scholars

Bandipora, April 28 : While exploring mystical philosophy of Dr Alam Iqbal (RA), number of scholars here say that the message of Iqbal can be helpful in ending the conflicts prevailing in the contemporary world.

This was stated by various famous scholars during a day long seminar organised by Alnoor College of Education and Future Vision Society Bandipora which observe 'Iqbal Day' on Tuesday in north Kahsmir's Bandipora district.

In the seminar, various renowned scholars of Kashmir valley explored the mystical philosophy of the Dr Iqbal in relation to the contemporary world of conflicts and wars.


“Iqbal’s message of ones true self by recognizing and nurturing the soul has very powerful and universal appeal. It applies to the entire humanity rather than particular ethnicity” speakers said during the function”, one of the scholar said.

“His knowledge of the West and its Philosophies has empowered him to express his thoughts in manner that attracts the curious and progressive minds everywhere”, he added..

Dr Maroof Shah, while highlighting the role of Iqbal as Sufi in relation to the contemporary world said, “God is Love, Iqbal is the profounder of this Love (Ishq) and we have hardly tasted the Iqbal”

“To taste Iqbal and the Gnosis of which is the true bearer, we need to Love, Love, and Love so that the conflicts prevailing in this post modernistic world can be wiped out” Maroof said.

“Iqbal stressed the Love with God to maintain the Universal peace and tranquility within Cosmos”, he added.

Prof. Manzoor Fazili who was Guest of honor while responding to the Maroof Shah said that every one should take care while interpreting the personalities like Dr.Iqbal.

While discussing the Philosophy of Iqbal he said “Iqbal propounded the concept of Mardi-Mumin which he got from the Nitcheze's concept of Superman to glorify the humanity”

Fazili said that present Kashmir society is product of war of Ego’s and we follow the propounded concepts of Iqbal to end up these wars”

“We can improve the human life better to produce the Mard-e-Mumin while coming out the war of Ego’s and Iqbal has prescribed the remedy to end up these wars”, Fazili said adding “Universal state of virtue can be established by following the philosophical concepts of Dr.Iqbal”.

Prof Rashid Nazki in his concluding speech elaborate the speeches of preceding scholars, and said that Dr.Iqbal concept of Mradi-Mumin was none other than Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) which is absolutely different from the Nitcheze's concept of Superman.

“Iqbal propounded the main three Mystical concepts of Slef(Khudi),Love(Ishiq) and Ego(Ana) which in totality can make way to the’ Truth” Nazki said.

“When one realized the ones ‘Self’ he can understand the Cosmic Reality which can be helpful in eradicating the disturbances prevailing among the contemporary humanity” Nazki said.

Scholars who speak on the occasion include Prof.Rashid Nazki, Prof.Manzoor Fazili, Dr.Muhhmad Maroof Shah, Master Shahie, Poet Mushtaq Ahamd Shah Mateen, Gul Tanveer, Munawar Parvana and Shabir Ahmad Lone.Stundest from various schools and collages also participated in the function and throw light on the contribution of Iqbal.

Ghulam Nabi Tantray patron of Alnoor College paid vote of thanks to all the participants and announces that few important functions including the Khuhami Day, Bandipora Day and Nadim Day will be observed in the same manner after end of elections in the month of May-June.

“We will invite the scholars and thinker all over the sate to observe the Bandipora, Khuihami and Nadim day in the Bandipora in May –June” said Tantray. (NAK)
