Sajjad Poonchi’s book “Faseelien Bolti Hain” released
Jammu April 11: Latest Urdu Poetic collection of Sheikh Sajad Hussain Poonchi entitled “Faseelien Bolti Hain” was released here in an impressive function organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages held at K L Saigal Hall this afternoon.
A galaxy of writer’s, poets, intellectuals of various languages spoken in the State were present on the occasion.
Speaking about the book eminent writer S S Anand Lehar said that Poonch had remained a Cultural hub since centuries together and many stalwarts of Urdu like Krishan Chander, Chiragh Hussan Hasrat had contributed a number valuable books exploring Poonch as a vibrant identity adding that Sheikh Sajad Poonchi is carry forwarding this Cultural legacy. He appreciated the author for his latest book “Faseelien Bolti Hain”. He said this book is a reflection of the sentiments of people residing in difficult and complex situations.
Sheikh Sajjad Hussain author of the book while speaking on the occasion said that I have expressed my heartfelt and deep sentiment in this book. He said although I am regularly writing in Gojri and Pahari Language but this book which in Urdu is an out come of my thoughts and feelings about the people residing in border areas of the State.
Ved Bahsin who presided over the function also spoke about the book “Faseelien Bolti Hian” and appreciated the work done by Shiekh Sajjad Poonchi for promotion of Urdu. Sohail Kazmi who was guest of honour said that Sajjad is a poet of sentiments added that he has dedicated his whole life for the upliftment of Art, Culture and languages spoken in Poonch.
Prominent Urdu Poet Arsh Sahbai read out research paper on the book released.
Earlier welcoming the guests Savita Bakshi, Additional Secretary Cultural Academy spoke about the book and the author and said that Academy is doing its best to provide a platform to our writers by releasing their latest books.
Prominent artist from Poonch Master Kartar Chand and Suraj Singh presented Ghazals of Sheikh Sajjad Hussain on the occasion.(NAK)
