PM, CM support Indo-Pak dialogue
New Delhi, March 26: Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has said that India wants good relations with Pakistan, adding that in an environment of mutual confidence and friendship, the State of Jammu and Kashmir stands to benefit.
Dr. Singh said this during a meeting with the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here today. The meeting was the first the Chief Minister had with Dr. Singh as the latter was indisposed for some time after Omar Abdullah took over as the Chief Minister.
The two leaders had a detailed meeting on the development issues on Jammu and Kashmir during which they also discussed the dialogue process between India and Pakistan.
The Chief Minister supported the Prime Minister’s stand on good neighborly Indo-Pak relations and said he was supportive of the dialogue between the two south Asian countries.
The Prime Minister observed that Jammu & Kashmir would develop in an environment of friendship between India and Pakistan.
