DD Kashir organizes Seerat quiz on Eid Milad-un-nabi (SAW)

Srinagar, March 05: In the run-up to Eid Milad –un- nabi -birthday of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) Srinagar will organize and telecast a series of programmes including quiz, seminars, book releases and other functions based on the life and teachings of Prophet (PBUH).

In a statement issued here, a spokesman of the Kendra said “On Thursday DDK Srinagar organized a Seerat quiz based on the life and role of Prophet (SAW) in which several schools of the valley participated. The teams were divided into four groups and the participants were awarded with books based on etiquette of life in Islam whereas the winning team was awarded with Seerat-un-nabi –a book on the life and experiences of Prophet.”

The spokesman said that the participants were awarded with books based on Islam and Prophet (PBUH) by Director DDK Srinagar, Dr Rafeeq Masoodi who congratulated the participants and encouraged the youth to participate in such programmes aimed at spreading the teachings and principles of Prophet (PBUH).

According to the spokesman, Dr Masoodi said “The knowledge and the level of awareness about Islam and Prophet among these children shows, that our future is in safe hands. We should provide more such platforms to our future generations where they could share their religious knowledge with thousands of viewers in addition to the knowledge of science and technology.”

He said that the aim of organizing these programmes is to highlight various aspects of ‘Uswa-e-Hasna’, the sacred life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as a constant source of guidance for the mankind

While announcing that DDK Srinagar will organize several other programmes on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-nabi, Deputy Director Programmes Shabir Mujahid said “This Seerat quiz will be telecast on Sunday at 8.30 pm on DD Kashir. Then on Monday a seminar titled Mohsiney Insaniyat will be telecast at 8.30 pm on DD Kashir in which several renowned scholars, Ulemas and academicians from across the valley will participate and present their thoughts on the life and teachings of Prophet under the light of Seerat of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).”

Mujahid said that a book on the life of Prophet (PBUH) written by Prof. Rashid Nazki would also be released by DDK Srinagar on the occasion of Eid milad –un- nabi on March 09.
