Ant Hazir Ho staged at Abhinav Theatre

Jammu, Mar 02: Jammu and Kashmir of Art, Culture and languages in collaboration with North Zone Cultural centre, Patiala today jointly organized the performance of ‘Ant Hazir Ho’ a play in Hindi Directed and Designed by Shri Mushtaq Kak, a renowned Theater actor and Director. This production of Amateur Group, Jammu is written by Meera Kant Shri Vijay Bakaya, former Chief Secretary and MLC was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

This play brings to the centre stage those situations and incidents that make a young girl’s life a lining nightmare right from her early year. These situations that often develop in a seemingly innocuous family set up eat into its familial fabric destroying it from within like lethal termite. It is the misfortune of society that it lacks the courage to rid itself of this malaise and allows the rot to set in and indeed thrive till it eats its way to the very core of that society. On the contrary, it sweeps these relatives under the carpet, and ostensibly the bunnies of life go on as though nothing is amiss.

The play focuses on situations when the home instead of being a symbol of safety and security turns into dangerous zone. When traps are laid out in the house itself and the protector transforms into a deadly assailant. Moving far ahead of domestic violence and rape this play is about the slow, painful earth of human values.

Before the performance while welcoming the audience, Mrs. Savita Bakshi, Additional Secretary, Jammu told that Academy has scheduled number of National level programme in the filed of Folk Dances of different states of India preferably North Eastern States in collaboration with North Zone cultural Centre, Patiala besides other activities related to Art and literature. She thanked Sh. Devinder Singh Sarohya, Director North Zone cultural centre, Patiala for showing his special concern to the Jammu and Kashmir state.

Shri Vijay Bakaya former chief Secretary and MLC while speaking on the occasion complimented the artists who performed in the play. While appreciating the Director of the play Sh. Mustaq Kak, Shri Vijay Bakaya said that Jammu region has the lot of telent which can contribute in the contemporary Indian theater. He also congratulated Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and languages and North Culture Centre, Patiala for organizing this series of play.

The artists who performed include Irfan Choudhary, Tapeshwar Dutta, Manoj Bhat,. Iffra Mushtaq Kak, Aparna Kapoor, Baljeet Kour, Ashfaq Anwar, Mahesh Puri the music was design by Sh. Bhupinder Singh Jamwal, Make up Shami Dhamir, Costume by Kamakshi Patyal and prreoperty by Fareed Iqbal.
