CB arrests Ex BDO Pulwama, others

Srinagar, February 25: According to Crime Branch, Kashmir continuing its drive against the criminals for making a crime free society has effected the arrest of Gulam Mohiudin Reshi S/o Abdul Ahad Reshi R/o Payeen Tral Ex. BDO Pulwama and Gulam Rasool Bhat S/o Abdul Ahad Bhat R/o Ratsuna Tral Ex. Accountant BDO Office Tral on February 24, 2009 in connection with case FIR No. 63/03 P/S CBK.

The accused during their posting have prepared the service books of regularization/appointment of Daily Wagers as Helpers illegally when the age of these beneficiaries was less than 18 years as prescribed by the Government for such regularizations. Further the accused have drawn the salary/arrears of these under aged Daily Wagers for their ulterior motives at the cost of the State exchequer.

The investigation of the case relates to gross irregularities committed in Rural Development department during the process of regularization of services of Daily rated workers and their appointment against substantive posts during 1995-96.

The accused are in police lock up on the orders of court and are being questioned to get further details about the case. Efforts for arresting the other accused are on and the case shall be produced in the court of law accordingly.
