Bhaderwah Feb 21: On getting information form our source person this Correspondent of (KNS) reached in Compartment No.53, 56, 57 of Forest Division Bhaderwah and was wonder struck to see the devastation of forests there. A number of green Deodar Trees had been cut and Labour was busy in sawing and turning big logs in to timbers. When asked, they said that the Trees had been cut for the Construction of Masque near village of Dandi Bhaderwah.Destruction of forest on the name of Masques or Temples is illegal.Actually, trees have been cut for commercial purposes and name of Masque is being exploited to avoid any legal action against the culprits. Involvement of the Forest Department in the broad day devastation of the national wealth is clear. Such cases have several times been reported, but for went of action the culprits feel encouraged. If cutting of the trees continued in the same way, that day is not for away when. These Forests will turn in to deserts.
