NC leader demands Boys HSS, CD Block for Verinag

Doru (Anantnag), Feb 02: Former Minister and Senior National Conference leader Muhammad Akbar Ganai has hailed the efforts of the Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in getting new academic and polytechnic colleges sanctioned for the state, besides striving for the developmental projects for the state. In a press statement issued here today, the former minister hailed the efforts of the chief minister and urged the government to consider the long pending demand of Verinag regarding the upgradation of High school boys at Verinag, Qamer and Nowgam. He also demanded establishment of polytechnic college for Verinag belt so that the unemployed youth of the area could technical training in various fields. Demanding separate CD block at Verinag, he said, for better development and speedy implementation of centre and state sponsored schemes through Rural Development Department, the opening of new CD block will help in implementation of these schemes in rural areas which due to shattered division of Panchayats hinders the development work especially in Kapran belt. Ganai, who was interacting with the people of various Payeen villages of Shahabad during his visit, said that NC led collation government is fully aware of the problems of the people and assured them that their plight would be taken with the concerned departments for immediate redressal. At Larkipora was NC leader was told that the Payeen area of Shahabad is facing acute shortage of water particularly to irrigate the Agriculture land due to the diversion of the Nala Sunder and Bringi and demand reconstruction of the said canal so that the whole land of these villages could be irrigated. The deputations who called on the NC leader at Lok-Bhawan and Zaldoora demanded that fresh schemes of water supply with the coverage capacity for next thirty years should be started, so that the villages deprived so far could get atleast drinking water. Akbar Ganai assured the villagers that he will take up their demands with the administration and hoped that Government would undertake long term water supply schemes in hand like Sarbal which has capacity to fetch whole of the area can not only supply clean drinking water to the villages of Doru Shahabad but will irrigate the paddy land of Kapran belt too. Hailing the efforts of the Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in getting 11 new colleges sanctioned for the state besides striving for the developmental projects to boost the economy of Jammu and Kashmir, He said that if given a free hand, Omar Abdullah would rewrite the history of the state economy and development in glorious terms. He asked the party workers to strengthen the hands of chief minister Omar Abdullah and National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah so that Kashmir is back on reels of development and prosperity.
