NO SHORTAGE OF DAP THIS YEAR.CHAMBAL FER.MAKING THINGS EASIER FOR KASHMIRI FARMERS

CHAMBAL FERTLIZERS & CHEMICALS LTD   SHIPS OVER 300 TRUCKS OF DAP TO KASHMIR VALLEY.

The farmers   in Kashmir   have  been over the   years   complaining   about the shortage of DAP  fertilizer. The main reason   behind this shortage was mainly due to reason that the DAP   was nor directly   shipped to Kashmir and instead   was distributed through various dealers  of Jammu. It was due  to this reason that   there was wastage of time  in dumping huge quantities of DAP fertilizer  in Jammu and than shipping the same again to Kashmir  and 2ndly  as the demand for DAP increases manifold in Kashmir in March,  a good quantity of it was routed  from Jammu through various  black marketers  who  were making a good fortune  out of it .Now the   Chambal Fertilizers  & Chemicals Ltd   ( A K.K Birla group Co)   has managed  to import  the best quality of DAP from Australia  and  the Co has also  shipped the entire consignment to Kashmir valley directly  &  over 300 truck loads of DAP are now  stored for  supply to farmers in various outlets  in Kashmir valley. This will give  a sigh of relief to farmers in Kashmir  as they will not have to  wait  any more and there will be no shortage of DAP  in the  coming season. Accordingly there are reports that a group if Middlemen in Jammu   who are associated with trade of  fertilizers  and DAP are  up in arms  against the Company for making the shipment directly to Kashmir instead of Jammu. But the Co officials  have defended their decision “It results in wastage of time  and there is an additional  carriage charge of about Rs 15000/ per truck from Jammu .So we thought that  it will be  in the best interest of farmers to ship the DAP directly to Kashmir. There is no sense in dumping the material in Jammu and than again  reload it for Kashmir. We have shipped over 300 truck loads to Kashmir and  DAP is now available  in all distcts of Kashmir  said Mr Sajay Pahuja, Area Manager of Chambal Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. The move of the co. is being appreciated   by the framers as well as the dealers .We appreciate this move of Chambal Fertilizers. Kashmir uses more DAP and other fertilizers so it is  necessary for all companies  to make  their  godowns in Kashmir  and   they should make all distributors and  dealers from Kashmir   as  it is not only expensive to  forward goods through Jammu but delay is  also a worrying factor said Mr Ali Mohammad , a dealer  from Awantipora , in South Kashmir.
