'Listen to public grievances from 2 to 4 PM', Government to Sectt babu's,

Jammu, Jan 20: General Administrative Department (GAD) today issued a fresh circular asking all administrative secretaries not to leave their respective offices or fix any meeting from 2-4 PM so as to remain available exclusively for meeting the visitors to hear their grievances. Like today's order General administrative Department has been issuing circulars to the administrative secretaries but despite that the hearing and redressal of the grievances of public was always questionable and now time will speak whether the Babu's of civil secretariat will hounor the circular or not. Government seems to be much sincere in redressing the public related issues as a new Circular vide No: O7, GAD of 2009 D a t e d: 20 -01- 2009 is strict as GAD has requested the officials to monitor redressal of grievances brought to their notice in time bound manner. Circular issued by GAD reads as "Attention of all the Administrative Secretaries is invited to GAD's circular No: 36-GAD of 200g dated 17.10.20ag where in they were requested not to fix any meeting between 3 P.M to 4 P.M so as to remain available exclusively for meeting the visitors to hear their grievances". The case has been further considered and it has been decided that all Administrative Secretaries should hear the public grievances between 2 PM to 4 PM on a daily basis, the circular issued by the GAD added. The government, keeping in view the public grievances has further enjoined upon the administrative secretaries of all departments to keep themselves available from 2-4 PM so as to meet the public and not to fix any meeting during this time. The circular further reads "Accordingly, it is enjoined upon all the Administrative Secretaries not to fix any meeting between 2 Pm to 4 PM and remain available in their office during the said period for meeting the public to hear their grievances. Further, they are also requested to monitor redressal of grievances brought to their notice in a time bound manner". This is third such circular issued by the General Administrative Department (GAD) which indicates that General public who expect a lot from the system can atleast meet some officer whom they can narrate their plights.
