Sharma visits Tulip Garden, NM Botanical Garden
Srinagar, January 18 –The Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma visited Tulip Garden and Nehru Memorial Botanical Garden here today. He was accompanied by Director, Floriculture, Dr. Ghulam Sarwar Naqash and other officers. The Minister was informed that the department contemplates to grow 10 lakh more tulip flowers this year which would add more beauty to the garden and attract the local besides tourists. The Minister was further informed that 30 lakh tourists visited the garden last year.
Mr. Sharma asked the concerned authorities to publicize its grandeur to attract more and more tourists to the Valley when tulip flowers would be on the full bloom. He also directed for the beautification of the lake in Botanical Garden.
Earlier, a deputation of All Valley Fruit Growers Association also met the Minister and apprised him of their problems. The Minister assured the deputation that their genuine problems would be looked into and steps taken for early solution.
