J&K cabinet expansion delayed due to coalition politics: Farooq
Mumbai, Jan 17, 2009: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has said the expansion of the newly-constituted Cabinet in the state was being delayed due to coalition politics. Mr Abdullah, who is in the city with his son and Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for an award function of a business magazine, talking yeserday to UNI said,
''I am confident that the new government will perform better than the earlier government.'' On Mr Omar continuing with his political lineage, Mr Farooq Abdullah said ''I feel more relaxed now and believe that the younger generation will be able to fulfill our incomplete dreams.'' However, Mr Abdullah categorically denied retirement from politics, while indicating to play an active role in national politics.
Both, father and son duo have come to the city for the first time after the National Conference-Congress government came to power in Jammu and Kashmir on January 5. Mr Omar had completed his education at Sydenham college here and speaks chaste Marathi.
