Omar reviews development in home constituency

Srinagar Jan 16: Seeking to turn his home constituency Ganderbal into a a model district, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has allotted Rs 15.50 crore for construction of three bridges, besides announcing other development projects.
Omar, who visited the constituency on Thursday, sanctioned Rs 15.50 crore for construction of three bridges from Athoora to Takinwari, Shadipora and Narain Gund in the district, official sources said on Friday.
Sources said the 200-bed hospital in Ganderbal will be upgraded within two months. Omar also approved the opening of a higher secondary school and two primary health centres in Kangan area of the district.
Speaking at the maiden meeting of all the sectoral officers of Ganderbal, Omar directed the authorities to take up productive schemes beneficial for the people and which could bear fruit in a short span of time.
He asked the administration to identify core areas where schemes could be launched and completed within 100 days as the same has been made a benchmark by the coalition government.
The meeting also discussed several other problems being confronted by the people in the district, including construction and upgradation of roads, lack of a degree college, poor health facilities and power crisis.
